A Macdonald-Cartier student is recognized for her community contribution!

Magalie Malette, a grade 10 student at École secondaire Macdonald-Cartier, received the Richelieu Youth Award (Prix Jeunesse Richelieu) in the high-school category at the 17th Annual Mérite Horace-Viau, held on June 22nd, 2016.
Active in her school and keenly interested in politics, Magalie is a member of the theatre group Les Draveurs and of the specialized science, math and technology program La 4e dimension. At the tender age of 6, Magalie would ask her friends to bring various items for local charities instead of gifts to birthday parties. Magalie had the privilege of representing Sudbury as a page at the Senate and recently participated in the Forum for Young Canadians. Magalie is always looking for new challenges and opportunities to make a difference, to collaborate with others and transform her ideas into community action.
Other Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord alumni students have also received the Richelieu Youth Award over the years. Chloé Hallée-Théoret, Michèle Palkovits, Leïla Reguigui and Anick Dennie have been recognized for their strong contribution and commitment to their community.
